About this work
“Village on the Gulf” (produced by Sampson-Matthews in 1947) offers a snow-bound image of Quebec. Looking through a sparse stand of birch trees, which cast crisp blue shadows on fresh mounds of powder snow, Robinson offers a view of a small village clinging to the bank of the St. Lawrence River as ice floes pass by in the distance.
